Impact
Measuring what matters, honestly.
We are early. Rather than promise specific impact numbers before we've earned them, we're building proof in a disciplined way through focused pilot collaborations.
Behind every metric is a family waiting for an answer. We measure to make sure the work moves toward them faster.
Pilot Principles
How we approach this work.
Our goal at this stage is not to make broad claims, but to demonstrate real, measurable improvements in how research moves forward.
Define before we begin
For each engagement, we define the bottleneck upfront and agree on what success looks like before any work begins.
Measure what matters
We track outcomes, not activities: reduced processing time, improved efficiency, better use of data.
Share what works and what doesn't
Even early results matter, because they show how this approach can work in practice. We publish what we learn, including where we fall short.
How We Measure Impact
The areas we track.
We will publish results in each of these areas as the program matures. No pre-committed numbers, just measurement frameworks we'll report against.
Cash Grant Track
- 01
Funding deployed
Direct research funding allocated, with public reporting on how each dollar is used and what it enabled.
- 02
Grants awarded & translational milestones
Number of grants funded each cycle and the preclinical / translational milestones reached by funded projects.
- 03
Publications & leveraged follow-on funding
Peer-reviewed publications enabled by our grants, and downstream funding (NIH R01s, foundation grants) that funded projects subsequently win.
Technology Grant Track
- 01
Research time saved
Hours and weeks reduced on data processing, pipeline development, and analysis tasks that previously bottlenecked research.
- 02
Workflow improvements
Reusable tools, pipelines, and systems delivered to research teams that extend value beyond a single engagement.
- 03
Co-authored research outputs
Co-authored papers, datasets, and tools that result from embedded technical work, credited transparently.
In 3–5 years, we expect to show meaningful progress in advancing research toward therapies for rare childhood cancers. Not by claiming a cure, but by clearly accelerating the path toward one.
Pilot Programs Launching 2026
Two parallel pilots, one mission.
We will report transparently on what we deliver, what we learn, and what we'd do differently in each pilot.
Cash Grant Track
First Funding Cycle
Our inaugural NIH-style review cycle: Letters of Intent invited, peer-reviewed proposals scored, and the first Notices of Award issued to pediatric cancer research labs.
Apply as ResearcherTechnology Grant Track
Cohort 1 (Sept 2026 – Feb 2027)
A focused pilot supporting 3–5 pediatric cancer research labs with embedded teams of engineers and a Tech Lead for six months.
Reports we will publish as Cohort 1 progresses
Funded Studies & Outcomes
Cash-grant awardees, project summaries, and outcomes reports.
